Privacy Policy
HitterHype is a walk-up music and Public Announcement app for youth softball and baseball coaches, published by Skrap Ventures LLC.
What we collect
• Roster data — team names, age groups, seasons, player first names, jersey numbers, positions, and the songs you assign to each player. Stored locally on your device and synced to your account in our cloud (Supabase).
• Account data — when you sign in with Apple, Google, or email/password, we receive a unique user ID from the provider and (for Google or email/password) the email address you used. Apple Sign In may use a private relay address you control. We use this only to associate your roster with you across devices.
• Announcement audio cache — the literal text of each announcement (e.g. "Now batting, number 7 — Sevyn!") is hashed and used as a cache key. Generated MP3s are stored in our cloud so the same announcement only ever generates once across all users.
What we do not collect
• Phone numbers, location, contacts, or advertising/device identifiers. HitterHype ships no third-party analytics or ad SDKs.
• Photos. If you import a roster from a GameChanger screenshot, the image you pick is read only on your device — Apple's on-device text recognition extracts the names and jersey numbers locally. The picture itself is never uploaded to us or anyone else.
• Player surnames, addresses, or contact info — only first names and jersey numbers as you enter them.
• Any tracking or analytics about how kids whose names appear in rosters are using or interacting with anything.
Third parties
• ElevenLabs — generates announcement audio. Receives only the announcement text (player first name + jersey number) and the voice ID. Does not receive any device or user identifier. You can turn off "Use player names" in Settings to announce by jersey number only — names are then never sent.
• Supabase — hosts the audio cache, your roster sync, and authentication. Cached announcement audio is automatically deleted after 90 days.
• Apple — handles Sign in with Apple and (if you connect Apple Music) catalog search and playback. Subject to Apple's privacy policy.
• Google — handles Sign in with Google. Subject to Google's privacy policy.
• RevenueCat — manages your subscription. Receives your account user ID and Apple subscription/receipt status. Subject to RevenueCat's privacy policy.
• Dropbox — if you connect Dropbox to import audio files, that service receives your auth and file-listing requests through their public API. We do not store anything Dropbox returns beyond the audio file you choose to import.
Your data
• Tap "Sign out" or "Reset app" in Settings to clear local data on this device.
• To permanently delete your account and all cloud-synced roster data, use "Delete account" in Settings — this removes your account and data from our cloud immediately. Cached announcement audio is deleted automatically within 90 days, and we can expedite that on request.
• For any other data request, email privacy@hitterhype.com.
Children's privacy
HitterHype is designed to be used by adult coaches managing youth rosters. Player first names entered by a coach are stored on the coach's device and synced to that coach's account, and are used solely to generate that player's walk-up announcement. We do not knowingly collect data directly from children under 13.
Parents & guardians: if a child's name appears on a team's roster and you want it removed, email privacy@hitterhype.com with the team name, the player's name and jersey number, and your relationship to the child. We'll remove that player's record within 7 days and notify the team's coach. Associated cached announcement audio is deleted automatically within 90 days, and we can expedite that on request. You may also ask us to correct a child's information or to stop using their name (the coach can also switch the team to number-only announcements in Settings).
California residents
If you live in California, the CCPA/CPRA gives you rights over your personal information. The categories we collect are described above: identifiers (your account user ID and, for Google or email sign-in, your email address); customer content (team and player first names, jersey numbers, positions, and assigned songs); and commercial information (your subscription status). We collect this solely to operate the app — syncing your roster, generating announcements, and managing your subscription — and we disclose it only to the service providers listed under "Third parties," who process it on our behalf.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. HitterHype contains no advertising or analytics SDKs, so there is no "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" opt-out to exercise — there is nothing to opt out of.
California residents may request to know, access, delete, or correct the personal information we hold, and will not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. To make a request, email privacy@hitterhype.com; we verify requests against your account. For a player's information entered by a coach, see "Children's privacy" above.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the version date below and surface the new policy in the app on next launch.
